Relay For Life in Japan

Relay For Life began in Japan back in 2006, with the first event being held in Tsbukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture. Today, Japan has over 47 Relay For Life events across the country, engaging nearly 80,000 participants. One in every two Japanese citizens will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetimes. One in three will die from the disease. Relay For Life has created a place for cancer patients and their families to have an open dialogue about a cancer diagnosis, provide comfort and support to one another, and share stories of courage and hope.
