Relay For Life in Denmark

In 2016, Denmark has over 40 Relay For Life events scheduled across the country, engaging hundreds of cancer patients and their families in the fight against cancer.  You can find the locations and dates of the Relay For Life events by clicking the link on the right.

Relay For Life in France

In 2006, the League against Cancer organized the first Relay For Life in France in the department of Bas-Rhin. Throughout the past 9 years, the League Nationale Contre le Cancer has grown the Relay For Life program. Today, nearly sixty events in over thirty departments located in France participate in Relay For Life. In France, Relay For Life has shifted the conversation about a cancer diagnosis, the perception of those diagnosed, and the survivor and their family endure. 

Relay For Life in Ireland

The Irish Cancer Society hosts over 15 Relay For Life events across Ireland, bringing communities together and allowing them an opportunity to celebrate, remember, and fight back! Learn more about Relay For Life in Ireland by clicking the link to the right.

Relay For Life in Luxembourg

"This is not a sporting event or a charity run, but a demonstration of solidarity." Relay For Life in Luxembourg is truly about a community coming together to take up the fight against cancer. Relay For Life in Portugal

Celebrar. Recordar. Lutar. (Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back). Relay For Life in Portugal began in Coruche village in 2005. Since then, Relay For Life has already taken place in more than 40 locations across the country. All 40 communities came together to rally around the fight against cancer, learn more about the disease, and raise money to do something about it! Relay For Life in the Netherlands

Throughout the Netherlands, communities are forming teams across 12 events to fight back against cancer through Relay For Life. These 24 hour events consist of teams of between 10-15 participants, who take turns following the journey of a cancer patient through treatment. Relay For Life in the United Kingdom

What should Relay For Life participants in the UK bring to their events? Energy, humor, and motivation, to start! Throughout the United Kingdom, Relay For Life brings communities together to honor cancer survivors and their families, while raising funds for the amazing work of Cancer Research UK. What happens then?

Once you choose your twin, you are free to contact them directly, using the information they provided. This program is meant to be volunteer to volunteer - local event to local event.

What you make of your relationship is up to you! You can share stories, share successes, send motivating messages back and forth, get your local media involved, share event t-shirts, and more! Global Relay For Life Sister Relay Guidelines - 

  1. A Sister Relay relationship should only be entered into if both parties are willing to communicate regularly and timely.
  2. This site is a self-service site and therefore any connections are done at-will. 
  3. Any contact information on this site should only be used for Sister Relay purposes. Please do not use it for supply requests, general inquiries, or other questions. You can contact globalrelayforlife@cancer.org for those requests.
  4. To be fair to all Relay events, we ask that each event only make one Sister Relay connection. Please do not attempt to pair with multiple events.
  5. Each sister Relay connection may be different - some may involve mutual coaching, Skype connections to meetings or events, or even sharing Luminaria or t-shirts. Please do what feels comfortable, right, and appropriate for your connection.
